The lot owners in all three residential areas are tied together in a home owners association, the Sacandaga Station Lakefront Association (SSLA). A recorded Declaration document protects the rights and privileges of all Association members. This includes: a process for the collection of annual assessments; description of access and utility easements; an architectural review process for proposed construction; maintenance of communal property; use of the boat docks; allowable rental arrangements etc. The Association By-Laws specify how the members of the Association manage the affairs of the association, such as: payment of annual lake permit fees, taxes & insurance; maintenance of Association property; the review of proposed construction; election procedures; and supervision of capital improvements approved by the membership. An Annual Meeting is held each year at the beginning of August. The annual Association fee for 2012 is $500 plus $50 per boat slip used. Now that the majority of lots are sold the association is largely managed by its members (the lot owners).
